TAP.... TAP, TAP, TAP.... IS THIS THING ON?
Ahem. Ah. Hello.

Yes, it's me. I'm alive, and doing much better. Fic will resume tonight, as a matter of fact, for anyone still interested.

However....

There are going to be a few changes.

I am going to finally complete the job of getting all the links here to point to... well.. here. Then I am taking down the livejournal site. But for those who really hate dreamwidth, I am going to start archiving my fic with Archive of Our Own while I explore other possibilities. For those interested, the Livejournal site will switch (I hope) to discussing classic mystery works -- one of my old passions.

Meanwhile, in the fic world, I'm going to do a few things:

1. Finish all the unfinished stuff, including completing season 2 of Queen's Magicians, the Criminal Minds Crossover, and the Angel of Death. There's other stuff floating around but that's for last, I think.

2. There are some outstanding stuff. TARDIS!Ianto has made a reappearance, insisting I tell his namesake's story. There's also a final one-shot for that Universe. In Celtic Men, there's the last story to go to close that one off.

If I work really hard at this, I can finish by early next year.

And then?

I don't know. My fandom mind seems to run in one direction only, and that's Jack/Ianto. I haven't read fanfic in a while -- I hope to catch up with some of my favorites -- but.. is anyone still interested? How many of you have moved on to other fandoms, or do you mix them up?

And finally, why hadn't anyone mentioned Sherlock Holmes, the series? A girl needs a heads up from time to time!

So... showtime. Here we go.

Weeee, good!! I am looking forward to be able to read your fics on AO3, they are easier on my (bad) eyes. And good to know you're all right.

As for fandoms: I read TW, a bit of DW, Sherlock (but not anything), and I really, really love your AUs... :)
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:16 am (UTC)
Thank you! Sherlock... ah Sherlock... so many versions....
milady_dragon[personal profile] milady_dragon on July 4th, 2012 11:47 pm (UTC)
Interested? Are you kidding?? I can't wait to read more! And writing more Jack/Ianto would make me as pleased as punch. :)
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:16 am (UTC)
Me too. This weekend I'm hitting all my faves and doing some marathon reading...

OMG *flails*

I was just thinking the other day that I missed you something fierce and hoped you still had the fanfic bug cuz you are one of my favs.
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:17 am (UTC)
Thank you! Yes, now that I can think clearly again, the boys are back.
jelaza[personal profile] jelaza on July 5th, 2012 03:22 am (UTC)
I enjoy reading Inception, Stargate and Sherlock fics, and I've started reading Avengers fics. I've stopped looking for new Torchwood fics after COE, but I still enjoy rereading old favorites like your series.
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:18 am (UTC)
Thank you! Which Sherlock? Downey of Cumberbatch? I find them both interesting but not enough to write them. *sigh*
jelaza[personal profile] jelaza on July 6th, 2012 07:46 pm (UTC)
Cumberbatch. Oh and what is your pen name on AO3?
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 14th, 2012 01:24 am (UTC)
Emma. I keep it simple. Have NO talent for good handles!
[personal profile] hab318princess on July 5th, 2012 05:39 am (UTC)
definitely still reading (and writing Jack/Ianto - with a dose of single Jack before and after - so many emotions) - and Sherlock is awesome!
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:19 am (UTC)
It is, isn't it? They're a little too young, but they are just... edible :D
choccy_grl[personal profile] choccy_grl on July 5th, 2012 07:38 am (UTC)
Still reading anything by writers who I've always followed (like yourself) but not reading any of the new writers. Just don't have the time. That's why I'm not writing fanfic anymore. The ideas are still there (especially in the verses that already exist) but the ticking clock is not my friend.

My only new fandom is Merlin and I've been following that for quite a while. I tend to use Merlin as my feel good read, it's a normally a lot less angsty that Jack/Ianto.
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:20 am (UTC)
Yes, that clock is something else. Mine has been doing the mambo, but the guys are back in my head, and I find if they are there I must write about them.
rox712[personal profile] rox712 on July 5th, 2012 07:47 am (UTC)
Great to hear that you're still here! I'm still reading my favorite writers (even if I'm crap at commenting), but mostly I read Sherlock now. Love it to pieces, so I hope that you love it too.
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:21 am (UTC)
They are a bit too young, but there's so much sheer fun in it! All the little Conan Doyle homages and everyone bending backwards telling them it's ok to be a couple. I just laughed outloud several times.
rox712[personal profile] rox712 on July 23rd, 2012 01:39 pm (UTC)
That's what you get when fanboys take their favorite fandom and start playing with it. Sheer brilliance! I like the Ritchie!verse too, but Sherlock BBC is my new passion :-)

Glad to see you are OK and still about. I'm a bit confused, I won't be able to see your stuff if there is no link to your LJ. I don't mind reading it here or on Archive of our Own, but I don't have any accounts on either so would need at least a link.

I am still really interested in your fiction, I adore the Queen's Magicians as you know. I think TW fandom is taking some dying breaths but really interestingly those who were squeeing over Miracle Day went strangely quiet and disappeared and really there's only some "classic" fans left, mainly Jack/Ianto fans as well. I think they'd be happy to see your stories about.

Sherlock is good, but I have no interest in it as a fandom.
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:25 am (UTC)
I will solemnly promise that once I take down the LJ I will provide links. Somehow.

I wondered what had happened about Miracle Day. I don't get a peep anywhere, though my friends who watched it to the bitter end were left... bitter.

As far as Sherlock -- it's fun, especially if you're an old Holmes hand like myself. But writing for it? Nope.
http://fide_et_spe.livejournal.com/[identity profile] fide_et_spe.livejournal.com on July 6th, 2012 03:25 pm (UTC)
I think Miracle Day was just a failure. I've seen some fans try and argue it wasn't, but the reviews were awful, the ratings were awful, and the show itself was dire. God knows I watched it and I kept skim watching some scenes and some episodes, they were painful to sit through. I just felt like I should watch for some reason, but I guess at least I feel OK giving an opinion on it. Even RTD has admitted it wasn't very good!

I still haven't got around to reading much of your fic, but I will get there eventually, I promise. Torchwood is still my main fandom and I can't see that changing while there are still so many older fics I haven't read yet, and some very good new writers as well, so basically I'm still hugely interested in Jack/Ianto, the more the better. I'm just still so far behind, catching up is a problem, but a very enjoyable one to have.

Good to see you back!
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:26 am (UTC)
It's nice when you have so much to choose from, isn't it? And thanks!
badly_knitted: Jack Laughing[personal profile] badly_knitted on July 6th, 2012 12:23 pm (UTC)
Nice, but somewhat overwhelming! Hence my Fic of the Week posts on my journal - it's allowing me to start whittling away at my massive To Read list while at the same time introducing other people to some of the older fics. By setting myself one or two of the shorter series to read each week, I'm finally getting somewhere. Of course, there are still all the complete long series.... This could take a few years!
[personal profile] yanto on July 5th, 2012 11:34 am (UTC)
Glad to see you back. I like to read several different fandoms.
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 12:26 am (UTC)
Thank you!

Welcome back! I hope you're doing better. As to your writing, I love every Janto world you've created, even those I had my doubts about before I started reading them. Thank you so much for finishing up all the unfinished stories. Janto is actually the only fan fiction I read, and it's hard to find good Janto fanfic anymore. Your stories are definitely some of the absolute best out there. Thank you for many hours of reading enjoyment!

Lisa

Thank you! I enjoy reading in other fandoms but I seem to be able to write only Jack/Ianto. Other things come in a s crossovers only!

Yay for 1 & 2!!!
Also yay AO3, I love their set up, much easier to read for me.
Always glad to see new Jack/Ianto from you.

As for this - why hadn't anyone mentioned Sherlock Holmes, the series? - I didn't exactly *mention* it here on DmW but I have a Sherlock tag and all my fic this year has been Sherlock fic...
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 6th, 2012 02:59 pm (UTC)
I haven't really been reading fanfic.... but will hurry over to yours for the weekend!
[personal profile] mimit on July 10th, 2012 01:45 pm (UTC)
your fic
Hooray! You're back!
So, so glad to see you here again - and with a fantastic flourish, without missing a beat (except for time) - another tantalising chapter in 'Angel'. the thought of seeing through more windows in the "Queen's Magician" world makes me so happy!

Please - keep it up - don't get dejected!
You are appreciated!
xx

Re: your fic
Thank you! It's all coming. Slowly but I have a feeling there shall be floods sooner or later... :D
adiratam[personal profile] adiratam on July 13th, 2012 11:22 pm (UTC)
wow, you are coming back.... I have missed your writing..
I'm not reading much fanfic, but that has been due to a few RL problems.
So pleased you will finish some of your wonderful stories

Archive of Our Own... I haven't heard of this, will I need to join ???
Merucha[personal profile] merucha on July 14th, 2012 01:26 am (UTC)
It's a very simple signup. People like it because the post the work either by chapter or as the complete work and people can download PDFs so they can read later.
[identity profile] yuenoclow.livejournal.com on July 16th, 2012 05:31 am (UTC)
*flails* Yay! You're alive! XD I would most certainly continue to read Jack/Ianto! Especially if it's written by you. I really look forward to new chapters of the CM/Torchwood x-over, and also the Queen Magican's. Absolutely adore that series of yours.
