The New Doctor
Just saw the BBC interview with Matt Smith. One word of advice to Rusty and all his pals (as if they would listen): Let him integrate his mannerisms and his circuitous way of speaking into the character. It will be both a continuation and a departure from Tennant.

And he is seriously cute when he's speaking. His stills do not do him justice.

You're so right, although Russell's gone too, so it's all down to Stephen Moffat now :) He is cute as a button, and it definitely doesn't come through in photos. As long as the hair doesn't go down the emo route (and with decent costume that shouldn't be a problem) then I think he looks great for the part. The talking with his hands definitely works - so many of the previous Doctors have been like it, Nine epically so :) I'm pretty calm about this, because I wasn't entirely sure when I found out that David Tennant would be Ten, and he's been completely made of awesome. I really trust the casting for the show, they convinced me beyond doubt when they cast Catherine Tate and made me fall in love with her!

As for Matt Smith himself, I think anyone who can do as much live theatre as he's done, both National Youth Theatre and National Theatre, must have something special about him. My Dad swears he was brilliant in Party Animals too, so I might have to give that a look. I'm not looking for a suit, because he's not Ten, but a shirt would be nice, because he does look rather lovely in one ;)

Yeah, it's all going to be in the delivery -- costume, etc. will make a big difference!
