A Question from a Clueless Person  
Do people usually use different handles for LiveJournal and FanFiction.net? I'm asking because I just ran into a writer at FF who seems to be claiming authorship for fiction I've read here under another name... On the other hand, some people are posting at FF who I recognize from here. Most confusing.

UPDATE: As per your recommendations I IM'd the person. Turns out it is her. She couldn't use her LJ handle at FF. Whew!!!

Hi - some writers use different handles in different places. Sometimes their LJ profile will list their FF.net or Teaspoon user name.

When in doubt, I PM the person through LJ and ask "is this you?"

I second PMing the LJ author and asking them, because if it's not the same person, the original author should be notified they're being plagiarized. An ff.net author plagiarized at least 7 of my stories and I only caught it because someone e-mailed me asking if that ff.net author was me. If it's not that author, you should contact stop_plagiarism (http://community.livejournal.com/stop_plagiarism) and let them know--they are awesome at stamping out plagiarists.
