Marsco and Bridge

Marsco and Bridge, originally uploaded by emmacuesta.

I have been having a terrible craving for Skye all month. So here's one of my favorite places. The Slighachan River looking towards the Red Cuillin. The mountain on the left is Marsco, "my" mountain. It's not a technically proficient shot -- sun flares and everything -- but God it makes me happy.

Thank you. It's a lovely place. I dream of a small cottage nearby so I can see it every day.... :D

No wonder you are having cravings, it's beautiful.

Thank you! My biggest technical issue was that if I wanted that exact view I would have to accept the possibility of lens flare, but what the heck... the view won!

hm, i always like the lens flare - makes it look more real to me

It is, isn't it? I always feel better there. I dream of retiring there, too.

The damp would probably play hell with ones joints - though it's pretty mild if you're not halfway up a mountain (Skye is further north than the Northernmost town in Labrador, Nain).

I guess so but my lungs love it at sea level! I have serious ambient allergies in Florida and they all disappear after a couple of days in Skye. Go figure!
