Fallout Commentary  
After writing Fallout I realized that it isn't really "fix-it fic." Ianto's still dead and so is Steven. The new characters, although genetically them, are actually individuals in their own right.

So what was it? "How-the-hell-to-get-gareth-back-into-the show" fic?

And yes, there's probably going to be some more of it. Damn bunnies!

Well, as much as it's not Ianto, Ifan still has a bit of him in him. And honestly? I find what you wrote to be far more interesting; on the one hand you have the physical representation of Ianto in the form of Ifan, but you also have someone new and different. Even if he eventually gets Ianto's memories, he'll also have Ifan's and it makes him a more complex character. Further, and this just might be my taste for angst, it forces Jack to actually deal with Ianto's death and what Ianto meant to him, especially if he chooses to pursue a relationship with Ifan.

Oh yes. Jack's going to go through hell on this one...

I wrote it with the following provisos: (1)I would start from the end of (the series that shan't be named), accepting what had happened; (2)it had to follow DW/TW canon as much as possible. From there on, I crafted what I had gotten from my dreams into the story.

well that works nicely. I mean, as much as I hate, hate, hate certain aspects of COE, it's also kind of fun to see if one can play with it and still get what one wants. And wow, that is suitably vague?
