I Am Now Officially Ready For Providence Park
I have signed up for both NaNoWriMo  and [livejournal.com profile] reel_torchwood .  For reel_Torchwood, I'm doing The Count of Montecristo. For NaNoWriMo, an original murder mystery.

Lord have mercy.

*hands over alcoholic beverage of choice*
Good luck! I'm really looking forward to seeing this
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:36 pm (UTC)
Alcohol doesn't help when I'm trying to write, you know :D But I picked something I'm rather fond of, so it should be ok...
[identity profile] cen-sceal.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:59 pm (UTC)
Well, I can also pedal some pretty fine hot chocolate which involves real cream & cadburys, so if that's a vice I'll start that for bribes instead :D
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 21st, 2009 02:09 pm (UTC)
Now that sounds perfect!
[identity profile] cen-sceal.livejournal.com on October 21st, 2009 05:20 pm (UTC)
Is a plan!
*pulls out shopping list - chocolate, cream, milk, chocolate powder - grins evily & grabs large chocolate bar*

Can I be your roommate? I'm just as crazy, remember?
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:37 pm (UTC)
Room 29 beds A & B are reserved!
ext_116536[identity profile] beth-mccombs.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 10:55 pm (UTC)
Oh good, instead of basketweaving we'll take up writing.
ext_41651: JB[identity profile] fide-et-spe.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 08:42 pm (UTC)
I think the Count of Montocristo is perfect for Torchwood, really.
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:37 pm (UTC)
I is, isn't it? Just the thing... tho how exactly... still up in the air..
ext_41651: sadface[identity profile] fide-et-spe.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 10:26 pm (UTC)
Thing is, Jack is the obvious choice. I guess you could have Tosh in prison, pre TW, but then I don't think that would be easy as it's not the whole team. Mmm. An AU like your current one would be good to use.

How is poor Ifan, I do worry.
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 20th, 2009 03:07 am (UTC)
Coming right along... :D
[identity profile] teachwriteslash.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 08:48 pm (UTC)
Join the crazy club ...
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:38 pm (UTC)
Yea, and to think I started with one lousy little one-off...
[identity profile] nightporters.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:23 pm (UTC)
I'm contemplating NaNoWriMo again.
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:38 pm (UTC)
Well, you've been writing up a storm, so why not? Original fic or something about your favorite boys?
[identity profile] nightporters.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:40 pm (UTC)
I've got a J2 nonAU except with a Stephen King/Dean Koontz monster in mind.

Except, I have lots of essays which really should take precedence.
*wibble*
[identity profile] choccy-grl.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:27 pm (UTC)
Ah yes I've signed up for reel torchwood in a fit of creative optimism, I'm doing Around the world in 80 days.
I was considering NaNoWriMo but my current story (a J/I AU set on a submarine) is pressing on at 25000 words and I don't think I could manage another long story next month as well.
We do put ourselves through it.
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:39 pm (UTC)
We do, don't we? I got kinda talked into NaNoWriMo by Beth; not that she recruited but it sounded fascinating. Then she mentioned reel_Torchwood and... oh dear.
[identity profile] choccy-grl.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 09:49 pm (UTC)
I'm blaming blue fjords for getting me involved in reel torchwood.
ext_116536[identity profile] beth-mccombs.livejournal.com on October 19th, 2009 11:03 pm (UTC)
*attempts to look innocent* Hey!
kelticbanshee[personal profile] kelticbanshee on October 19th, 2009 09:57 pm (UTC)
:D I'm sure you'll manage.

I'm doing NaNo as well. Sort of. Aiming for 50K words, anyway...
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 20th, 2009 03:08 am (UTC)
I've decided that my goal is to finish at least 2/3rds of it. If I complete it, I will be very happy indeed.
kelticbanshee[personal profile] kelticbanshee on October 20th, 2009 11:11 am (UTC)
Well, from my experience last year, there are two ways to go about it: try to write something you will be happy editing/polishing later in the year, and maybe eventually publishing somewhere (which, for me, means not hitting the 50K because I edit too much as I write), or try to hit the 50K, which may somewhat dent the quality of what you are writing.

Last year I did the latter - the challenge for me was to write long, and write a lot, instead of going back and editing the whole thing every time I sat down to write. I think this year I'll try the former, so, yeah, if I hit the 30K mark, I'll be happy.

Anyway... motivating cookies, anyone? *passes plate around*

I'll make sure they save you a nice sunny corner in Providence Park, with plenty of chocolate - I think you're going to need it!

Good luck - both ideas sound great.
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 20th, 2009 03:07 am (UTC)
Chocolate is good...
[identity profile] xennie-b.livejournal.com on October 20th, 2009 06:50 am (UTC)
lol, Another hand up here for the crazy club :D
Good luck with yours!
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 21st, 2009 02:10 pm (UTC)
You too? We should form the Providence Park club :D
[identity profile] xennie-b.livejournal.com on October 22nd, 2009 06:19 am (UTC)
Yep and during activity time we can form a group in the corner, away from the other crazys, with our laptops and write :)
Are you using the same username for Nano? We should all buddy each other there :)
[identity profile] hab318princess.livejournal.com on October 20th, 2009 08:08 pm (UTC)
*cheerleading* you on for Nanowrimo (I've not signed up... doing the cheerleading bit instead)

I'm doing reel_torchwood though (50 first dates)
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 21st, 2009 02:10 pm (UTC)
Cheerleading is good-- and that will be a good movie to redo!
[identity profile] lirulien.livejournal.com on October 21st, 2009 05:51 pm (UTC)
Ahahahaha *meniac laughter*

I really don't care if you're in Providence Park or La Chateau D'If, as long as you keep writing and produce good fics as always! -- In fact, what I wouldn't give for being able to keep my favourite authors in a...time bubble or something and let them do nothing but write write WRITE.

Yeah I belong to Providence Park as well.

PS: The Count of Montecristo is one of my favourite novels!
[identity profile] merucha.livejournal.com on October 21st, 2009 11:55 pm (UTC)
I hope to God it lives up to my own expectations because I love it too!
